Coast League is played within the districts of the Southwest division. Originally, the four Coast clubs played: Long Beach, Newport Harbor, Laguna Beach and Santa Ana, each with a 6 person team. As more members wanted to play, they increased each club to 12 players or 2 teams. In the early 2000's, Laguna Woods (from Orange League) came to play with us. Then, about 10 years ago, The Groves (from Orange League) also joined us. Two years ago, Casta del Sol (also from Orange League) was added so now we are the biggest league with 7 clubs and 11 teams playing 10 rounds to determine a champion. The club that wins Coast League selects 6 players to compete in the Waterbury Tournament. There are 3 trophies to win but only the winner gets any money. The winners from 6 Leagues participate from North, West, Coast, Central, Citrus and South. Coast League is a great start for our new potential tournament bowlers. They play with experienced players and learn the strategy and etiquette necessary for further advancement.
