This tournament took place last weekend. It was run by Chuck Muser. 28 people played 3 -12 end games of Australian pairs on a hot California day. Hospitality was much appreciated and was provided by Emily Carpenter with help from Jan Garrett, Carrie Reach and Susan Weaver. This tournament counts towards Bowler of the Year.
Good Luck to Team USA in the 2016 North American Challenge which is being played in Vancouver, BC from Thursday, September 29th to Saturday, October 1st. This is a biannual challenge match between the USA and Canada, 10 women and 10 men from each country. Among those playing for the US from NHLBC, will be Charlie Herbert, Matt Bauchiero, Brian Stewart, Anne Nunes and Linda Roberts. Jan Hargraves is managing the team. September's Inexpensive Dinner was at Acalpulco Restaurant on Bristol. Outdoor dining, friendship, margaritas, enchaladas, tacos, etc. What a great way to spend an evening!

SWWD California Bears tournament at Laguna Beach LBC on Sat, Sept 17th.
1st- Linda Roberts won with her team of Margi Rambo, Rosa Baer and Candy DeFazio
2nd- Maryna Hyland came second with her team, Heather Stewart, Brenda Wright and Mary Spease.

Ozzie Forbes Mix/Match Vet-Novice Triples was played in Long Beach on Sunday, Sept 18th.
The overall Winners were- Norma Goodhart, Bruce Williams and Jim Olsen
Scott Roberts came 3rd on the Center Green with Art Roberts and Donna Roberts.

The Newport Harbor Rinks Cup was Saturday September 10th with a full field of 96 bowlers. The finals were played on Sunday, September 11th, with a smaller field of 32 remaining bowlers.
NHLBC hosted some of the best bowlers in Southern California and the U.S. The format of this tournament was somewhat unique, with team requirements including novices and bowlers of both genders, thereby giving the maximum opportunity to combine experienced talent with fresh enthusiasm.
The committee for this tournament was comprised solely of Newport Harbor members: Chris and Debby Gaal, Jan and Tom Hargraves, Cathy and John MacDonald, Phil Luth, and Ted Farfaglia.
